Pilgrim's Pride Creditors Committee Appointed

Law360, New York (December 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. trustee overseeing the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings of Pilgrim's Pride Corp. has appointed an official committee of nine unsecured creditors one week after the poultry giant filed for bankruptcy protection citing short-term liquidity challenges.

The committee will consist of AlaTrade Foods LLC; the Bank of New York Mellon Trust; Calamos Advisors LLC; HSBC Bank USA, National Association; International Paper Company; Kornitzer Capital Management; Newly Weds Foods Inc.; Oaktree Capital Management LP; and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp., according to a filing Sunday in the U.S....
