DC Circ. Won't Review FAA Drone Privacy Challenge

Law360, New York (May 10, 2016, 7:33 PM EDT) -- The D.C. Circuit on Tuesday said it would not review a privacy watchdog's denied petition to the Federal Aviation Administration asking the agency to address privacy concerns raised by drone use in an upcoming rule-making, finding that the privacy group's request was untimely.

The Electronic Privacy Information Center objected to both the FAA's dismissal of its petition for the addition of drone privacy rules in a planned rule-making regarding unmanned aircraft and the fact that the FAA left out privacy rules in a preliminary notice of proposed rule-making that was released in February 2015.
