Ericsson Takes Aim At Samsung Over Phone Patents

Law360, New York (August 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Taking the offensive against South Korean Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. once again, Swedish handset maker Ericsson Inc. has brought an infringement suit, alleging its rival has violated 11 of its mobile communication patents.

Ericsson filed the suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claiming Samsung imported and sold products in the United States that remain covered by Ericsson’s patents for mobile communication devices and methods.
