SEC Must Amend Suit Against Ex-San Diego Officials

Law360, New York (December 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission will be forced to file an amended complaint in a fraud lawsuit against five former San Diego city officials, but none of the defendants was dismissed outright from charges that they submitted false and misleading financial statements about the city's pension system.

In an order issued Friday, Judge Dana M. Sabraw of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California granted in part the defendants' motions to dismiss, but he gave the SEC leave to amend its complaint...
