Marvell Tries To Invalidate Wi-LAN Wireless Patent

Law360, New York (December 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Wireless device maker Marvell Semiconductor Inc. has sued Canadian patent licensing group Wi-LAN Inc. for a judgment that a Wi-LAN patent related to wireless networks is invalid, saying that Wi-LAN is threatening to sue over the patent.

In a complaint filed last Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Marvell alleges that Wi-LAN has threatened to assert a patent it says it owns, U.S. Patent Number 6,549,759, against Marvell products with wireless capability.
