3 Defendants Guilty, 1 Acquitted In KPMG Case

Law360 (December 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal jury in Manhattan on Wednesday convicted two former executives with KPMG LLP and an ex-tax partner with Brown & Wood on multiple counts of tax evasion, in a closely watched case over fraudulent tax shelters.

The former executives are John Larson, who was a senior tax partner with KPMG, and ex-KPMG tax partner Robert Pfaff. Former Brown & Wood tax partner Raymond J. Ruble was also found guilty on tax evasion charges but acquitted of conspiracy, Jack Hoffinger, an attorney representing Ruble, said Wednesday....
