Quest Diagnostics' $2.4M Blood Techs OT Row Deal Gets Nod
Law360, Los Angeles (June 21, 2016, 7:18 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Tuesday gave preliminary approval to Quest Diagnostics Clinical Laboratories' $2.35 million deal with a settlement class of 2,600 phlebotomists who claimed that, due to understaffing, blood technicians were forced to work unpaid overtime and without legally required breaks.
U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd gave his early approval to the pact between the parties during a hearing Tuesday, according to court records. The gross settlement amount includes $798,000 for attorneys' fees and costs.
