Bhopal Victims Decry 'Inertia,' Ask 2nd Circ. For 2nd Shot

Law360, New York (June 22, 2016, 10:53 PM EDT) -- Residents of Bhopal, India, who say pollution from the city's infamous pesticide factory damaged their property and poisoned area soil and drinking water in the 1970s and 1980s asked the Second Circuit on Tuesday to rehear their appeal of the dismissal of their suit against Union Carbide Corp. before the full court.

The petition said at least a dozen times that the case was not being treated like "any other case" and that the victims in the Bhopal contamination have become "victims of judicial inertia."  The plaintiffs said U.S. District Judge John Keenan has been dismissing Bhopal lawsuits for 30 years,...
