Lockheed Martin Hit With Sex Bias Class Action

Law360 (December 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A female engineer has filed a putative class action suit against Lockheed Martin Corp., accusing the defense contractor of discriminating against certain female employees by systematically passing them over for upper-level management positions.

Lead plaintiff Carol Bell filed the suit on behalf of all female employees outside Lockheed's human resources, communications and ethics departments Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, accusing the company of violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act as well as state anti-discrimination laws.
