Post Foods Hit With 3 Spats Over 'Natural' Cereal Claims

Law360, New York (June 23, 2016, 3:30 PM EDT) -- Post Foods LLC was hit with three suits in New York, California and Washington, D.C., courts Wednesday alleging that the company advertises its Shredded Wheat products as completely natural when they actually contain a herbicide that might cause cancer.

The complaints allege that Post and parent company Post Holdings Inc. tout their Shredded Wheat cereals as “100 percent natural whole grain wheat” and a “natural source of fiber” when they actually contain a chemical called glyphosate, a controversial weed killer that the World Health Organization said last year likely causes cancer.
