Wal-Mart To Pay Up To $640M Over Wage Disputes

Law360, New York (December 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has agreed to pay up to $640 million to settle 63 wage-and-hour class actions, some of which have been pending against the retail giant for more than eight years.

The exact amount to be paid will depend on the number of claims submitted by class members, but it will total no less than $352 million and no more than $640 million, Wal-Mart said Dec. 23.
