Starbucks Mistreated Pro-Union Workers: NLRB Judge

Law360, New York (December 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- An administrative law judge has ruled that Starbucks Corp. engaged in unfair labor practices in a lawsuit brought by union organizers alleging the coffee chain retaliated against workers at four Manhattan stores who wanted to unionize.

In a decision handed down Dec. 19 before the National Labor Relations Board, Judge Mindy E. Landow ruled that Starbucks unfairly imposed rules on several workers who supported the Industrial Workers of the World union and repeatedly discriminated against union supporters.
