Eastern Texas Could Cease To Be IP Fast Track

By Shannon Henson (December 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit issued a rare court order Monday that could dramatically reduce the number of patent cases filed in the venue long known as the intellectual property rocket docket – the Eastern District of Texas.

A three-judge panel of the appellate court issued a writ of mandamus ordering Judge T. John Ward to vacate a September order denying a bid by TS Tech USA Corp. to transfer a pending case to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
