RIAA Sues 532 "John Does" Over Music Piracy

Law360, New York (January 21, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a change of tactics in the music industry’s campaign against online piracy, the Recording Industry Association of America said Wednesday it had filed four separate suits against 532 individuals identified only as "John Doe."

Three of the lawsuits were filed in the Southern District of New York, and the fourth was filed in the District of Columbia District Court. The RIAA declined to name which internet service providers are involved.
