Judge Cuts Dewey's Fees In Receivership Case

Law360, New York (December 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has sharply reduced Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP's fees for serving in a federal securities receivership case, saying the number of hours charged and the hourly rates were both excessive.

In an opinion filed Tuesday, Judge Denny Chin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York applied a 20 percent cut to Dewey's fee application, dropping it from $2.15 million to $1.72 million.
