NY Can't Veto FERC's $683M Pipeline OK, 2nd Circ. Told
By Stan Parker (July 13, 2016, 10:25 PM EDT) -- Constitution Pipeline Co. asked the Second Circuit Tuesday to wipe out a New York environmental regulator's decision blocking its proposed $683 million 124-mile natural gas pipeline, the same day environmental groups told the court the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission never should have greenlighted the project without the state's approval.
The appeals court received the opening briefs Tuesday in two parallel appeals over the pipeline, which is designed to bring gas from Pennsylvania to New York.
