FCC General Counsel Leaves For DOJ

By Natalie Olivo (July 19, 2016, 4:23 PM EDT) -- Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler announced Tuesday that Jon Sallet will leave his post as the FCC's general counsel to join the U.S. Department of Justice, and he intends to appoint the vice chair of the commission's incentive auction task force as Sallet's replacement.

Sallet will depart the FCC after two and a half years with the commission to become the deputy assistant attorney general for litigation in the DOJ's antitrust division, Wheeler said in a statement, noting that "he has been a great counselor to me and the commission."
