'Dreamers' Urge 9th Circ. Not To Rehear Ariz. License Row

Law360, New York (July 27, 2016, 3:28 PM EDT) -- The Arizona Dream Act Coalition told a Ninth Circuit panel on Tuesday that the full court shouldn’t rehear an attempt by Arizona and conservative groups to revive a 2012 state order denying driver’s licenses to childhood immigrants who received deportation deferrals from President Barack Obama.

The coalition said the circuit court definitively established that Arizona improperly assigned a classification to these childhood arrivals, also called Dreamers, a right they claim is granted solely to the federal executive branch through the Immigration and Naturalization Act.
