Goldman Sachs To Pay Enron $7M Over Securities

Law360 (January 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Goldman Sachs & Co. has agreed to shell out nearly $7 million to the Enron Creditors Recovery Corp. over commercial paper transactions leading up to the energy company's collapse in 2001.

In a motion filed Thursday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, Enron asked the court to approve the $6.95 million deal with Goldman Sachs.

Enron's motion says that between Oct. 26, 2001, and Nov. 6, 2001, Enron paid more than $1 billion on commercial paper prior to those securities...
