DOD Takes Steps To Halt Purchase Of Counterfeit Parts

Law360, Washington (August 1, 2016, 8:08 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Defense set forth rules to help prevent counterfeit electronic parts from getting into military systems in the final version of amendments to the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement published Monday.

In addition to requiring contracting officers give greater scrutiny to electronic parts purchases made by contractors from third parties, the four rule-changes published in the Federal Register add Japan and Slovenia to the list of approved countries for contractor purchases.
