DOJ, Delta Strike Deal Over Superfund Cleanup

Law360 (January 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Delta Air Lines Inc. and the U.S. Department of Justice have struck a deal settling claims related to two Superfund sites, with the U.S. receiving a share of the proceeds from Delta's Chapter 11 plan to cover some cleanup costs.

On Friday, the DOJ posted the agreement with Delta for public review on the Federal Register, describing the deal as being in accordance with the airline's bankruptcy plan of reorganization in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
