Lonestar Files New Suit Over Semiconductor Patent

Law360 (January 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Patent-holding company Lonestar Inventions LP has filed a lawsuit alleging that certain Advanced Micro Devices Inc. chips, including one used in the popular Wii video game console, infringe its patent for a high-capacitance structure in a semiconductor.

The suit, lodged Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, is just the latest to come in over the patent. Other companies to be sued by Lonestar over the past few years include Wii manufacturer Nintendo Inc., Panasonic Corp., Texas Instruments Inc., Marvell Technology...
