Bankruptcy Looms As Star Tribune Negotiations End

Law360, New York (January 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Bankruptcy may be just around the corner for The Star Tribune, Minnesota's largest newspaper, following the collapse of labor talks between the newspaper and its chapter of the Newspaper Guild.

“The ball is in the company's court,” Graydon Royce, co-chairman of the Newspaper Guild's unit at The Star Tribune, said in a telephone interview. “They said that they're going to file for bankruptcy, and I assume that they're going to.”
