Altana And Wyeth Strike Again Over Protonix

Law360 (August 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- German drug maker Altana Pharma AG and its U.S. partner, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, expanded a long-running legal campaign Tuesday with another patent infringement lawsuit over their multi-billion dollar heartburn drug Protonix.

The companies filed the lawsuit against would-be manufacturers of generic Protoxin, including Germany-based Shwarz Pharma AG and a slew of its international subsidiaries, such as Delaware-based Kremers Urban Development Co.

The lawsuit was filed Aug. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
