Patent Firm Wins Again in Connector Dispute

Law360, New York (August 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Patent enforcement firm General Patent Corporation International has knocked another opponent out of its way, as the company carries on with its crusade to protect a slew of "smart connector" patents.

The intellectual property powerhouse announced on Monday that Taiwan’s Askey Computer Corporation and GPCI subsidiary Acticon Technologies had reached a settlement, ending a long-simmering patent infringement suit between the two rivals.

As stipulated by the settlement, Askey must now pay past damages on the patents-in-suit, entitled Connector Interface, Multiple Connector Interface, and Programmable Connector....
