Stanford Receiver's $35M Chadbourne Deal Gets Final OK

By Jess Krochtengel (August 31, 2016, 9:58 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge on Tuesday signed off on a $35 million settlement between Chadbourne & Parke LLP and the receiver overseeing recovery for victims of R. Allen Stanford's $7 billion Ponzi scheme.

The judge also entered a $24 million judgment against risk consulting business Kroll LLC and Kroll Associates Inc. in line with a settlement agreement that had been reached in December. Kroll is going through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, but the bankruptcy court approved Kroll's obligations under the settlement because they're being paid by insurance proceeds and former Kroll parent company Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. under an indemnity...
