Tropicana Creditors Can't File Competing Plan

Law360 (January 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A judge has refused to allow the official committee of Tropicana Entertainment LLC's unsecured creditors to file and solicit acceptances for a reorganization plan that would compete with the debtor's plan, filed earlier this month.

Judge Kevin J. Carey of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware on Wednesday denied a motion by the committee to modify Tropicana's exclusivity schedule so that it can file a plan and solicit acceptances in line with Tropicana's.
