American Airlines Sued Over Denied Medical Coverage

Law360 (August 9, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- American Airlines was sued on Monday by a retired couple alleging the company and its health insurance provider, UnitedHealthcare, were flighty about honoring their health plan and meeting ERISA requirements.

Orrin and Annie Harrison of Texas filed the complaint after American Airlines refused to pay for Mrs. Harrison’s skilled nursing care and subsequently did not respond to requests for information about the couple’s benefits plans.
