M&A Practice: White & Case

Law360 (January 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Companies in emerging market countries such as Brazil and India are becoming major players in mergers and acquisitions scooping up assets around the world, according to Oliver Brahmst, head of White & Case LLP's M&A group in the U.S.

Brahmst said a growing aspect of the practice’s work in 2008 came from BRIC countries — Brazil, Russia, India and China.

“I think in 2008, strategic buyers in these countries were more active than buyers in the U.S. and Europe,” Brahmst said.
