Judge Rips Charney's 2nd Arbitration Bid In Harassment Suit

By Daniel Siegal (September 14, 2016, 5:31 PM EDT) -- A California judge Wednesday blasted ousted American Apparel founder Dov Charney for trying to force an ex-employee to arbitrate her sexual harassment claims without first trying mediation, as the judge had mandated, expressing disbelief at the motion and staying the case until mediation is completed.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Debre Katz Weintraub told attorneys for the parties that she was surprised to see Charney moving for arbitration again without having headed to mediation first.
