Judge, Wife Of Cahill Lawyer, Leaves AIG Case

Law360, New York (January 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has recused herself from a series of shareholder class actions against insurance giant American International Group Inc. over its exposure to collateralized debt obligations in the residential mortgage market because her husband represents AIG in separate litigation.

Judge Loretta A. Preska of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York recused herself from 17 shareholder suits on Wednesday, granting a motion by several plaintiffs.
