Environmentalists Urge Obama Not To Expand Gulf Drilling

Law360, San Francisco (October 4, 2016, 3:42 PM EDT) -- Nearly 70 environmental groups asked President Barack Obama in a letter on Tuesday not to expand oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico in the 2017-2022 Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program, saying that energy extraction in that region has already “wreaked havoc” on Gulf Coast communities and ecosystems.
