Medtronic, BSC Agree To Halt 5 Patent Spats

Law360, New York (January 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Medtronic Inc. and Boston Scientific Corp. have agreed to halt all ongoing patent litigation between them over stents, balloon catheters and other endovascular devices, settling two disputes and standing down in three others.

The terms of the settlements are confidential, but both companies said Tuesday that the agreements would not have a "material impact" on their financial results. The companies described the stand-down agreements as "time limited," and added that the arrangements would not affect Medtronic's litigation against Abbott Laboratories Inc. in two of the suits...
