JFTC Raids Power Cable Makers Suspected Of Cartel

Law360 (January 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Japan’s Fair Trade Commission has reportedly raided the offices of three cable manufacturers as part of its investigation into a suspected global cable market cartel.

Japan-based Kyodo News reported on Thursday that the government watchdog had searched roughly 30 locations belonging to J-Power Systems Corp., Viscas Corp. and Exsym Corp. after accusations surfaced that the group had colluded to form a cartel to control contractors for sales of cables connecting power plants and substations.
