Rakoff To Crop Photog's Claims In $1B Suit Against Getty

Highsmith's 13-count suit claiming for more than $1 billion in damages against Getty Images' American arm and two other corporate defendants could be destined for the cutting-room floor, U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff told the litigants Monday.

The Manhattan federal judge said a trim-down was coming during an hourlong oral argument session in the heavily briefed case targeting Getty as well as Seattle headquartered image-copyright enforcement concern License Compliance Services Inc. and Brooklyn-based licenser Alamy Inc.
