Law360, New York (October 20, 2016, 2:47 PM EDT) -- Rimini Street Inc. is heading to the Ninth Circuit to appeal Oracle USA Inc.’s $88 million jury win against the software maintenance firm for copyright infringement.
Rimini, which provides a cheaper version of the support services that Oracle sells to users of its popular enterprise software, was hit with a $50 million verdict last year for improperly downloading and using Oracle’s copyrighted programs. Attorneys' fees totaling $46 million and $27.7 million in interest were later tacked on.
