FedEx Drivers' $15M Wage Deal Gets Green Light

Law360, New York (October 21, 2016, 5:40 PM EDT) -- An Oregon federal judge signed off Friday on FedEx Ground Package System Inc.'s $15.4 million class settlement with drivers who were allegedly shortchanged on wages, more than two years after the Ninth Circuit found the drivers were misclassified as independent contractors.

U.S. District Judge Marco A. Hernandez in Portland gave final approval to the deal in a brief order, finding it was fair and reasonable. The settlement resolves three related cases, one of which was filed more than a decade ago.
