Pa. High Court Upholds $1M Ford Asbestos Verdict

By Emily Field (November 22, 2016, 8:34 PM EST) -- The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld a $1 million jury verdict in favor of a man who claimed he contracted lung disease from exposure to asbestos in Ford Motor Co. brake pads, saying that expert testimony hadn't been based on an assumption that any asbestos exposure caused the disease.

The state high court said that the witness, Dr. Arthur Frank, clearly testified that every asbestos exposure during Richard Rost's three months working as an assistant in a Ford dealership garage in 1950 cumulatively contributed to his developing mesothelioma.
