Courts Decide Private Utility Battles, Ill. Justices Tell 7th Circ.

Law360, Chicago (December 1, 2016, 8:30 PM EST) -- The Illinois Commerce Commission does not have jurisdiction over rate disputes between nonpublic companies that sell electricity and their customers, the Illinois Supreme Court said Thursday in an opinion issued as part of a Seventh Circuit appeal in a proposed class action over alleged overcharging.
