Wash. Congresswoman Likely Choice For Interior Secretary

Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., a longtime supporter of energy development and the highest-ranking Republican woman in Congress, as head of the U.S. Department of the Interior, according to published reports Friday.

As Interior secretary, McMorris Rodgers would oversee the management of national lands and resources through the Bureau of Land Management, the National Park Service and other agencies, as well as the Bureau of Indian Affairs, which serves the 567 federally recognized tribes.
