Microsoft Hit With Suit Over Vista Downgrade Fee

Law360, New York (February 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Microsoft Corp. has been hit with an antitrust proposed class action alleging that the company unfairly requires PC buyers to pay an extra $104 to downgrade their new computers from the pre-installed Windows Vista operating system to Windows XP.

California resident Emma Alvarado filed the class action complaint on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington on behalf of consumers who had purchased computers pre-installed with Windows Vista.
