Finjan Sues Cisco For Infringing Cybersecurity Patents

Law360, Los Angeles (January 6, 2017, 10:16 PM EST) -- Cybersecurity company Finjan Inc. on Friday filed suit against networking giant Cisco Systems Inc. in California federal court, accusing Cisco of infringing five Finjan patents in a host of its cybersecurity software products after bailing on patent licensing discussions with Finjan.

In a 39-page complaint, the San Jose-based Finjan alleges that Cisco is infringing five of its patents covering ways to protect computer systems from malicious software and viruses when using the internet. The patents are U.S. Patent Numbers 6,154,844; 6,804,780; 7,647,633; 8,141,154 and 8,677,494, according to the complaint.
