Duane Reade To Pay $13.5M To End Asst. Manager OT Suit

By Abraham Moussako (January 9, 2017, 4:52 PM EST) -- Pharmacy and convenience store chain Duane Reade Inc. will pay $13.5 million to settle a class action alleging it didn't pay overtime wages to assistant store managers, according to an agreement filed in New York federal court on Friday.

Attorneys will seek $4,500,000 in fees, a third of the settlement, according to the filing. If approved, the settlement would end overtime pay litigation between workers and the Walgreens Co. subsidiary that has been ongoing since January 2011.
