Texas Dental Firm Pays $8.4M To Settle Medicaid Fraud Claims

Law360, Houston (January 10, 2017, 3:05 PM EST) -- Texas-based dental management firm MB2 Dental Solutions, along with 21 affiliated practices, agreed on Monday to pay a combined $8.45 million to resolve allegations of filing false claims to Medicaid for pediatric dental services.

Former MB2 employee Veronica Garcia brought the case to the government under the whistleblower provision of the False Claims Act. The government filed a complaint in the case in July 2012. Garcia is entitled to a share of the recovery under the act, which will be $1.52 million, the Department of Justice said in a news release.
