Cuomo Subpoenas BofA Head In Merrill Bonus Probe

Law360, New York (February 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo has reportedly subpoenaed Kenneth Lewis, the chairman and chief executive of Bank of America NA, as part of a probe into whether the bank withheld information about Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. from investors.

Citing unnamed sources, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Cuomo subpoenaed Lewis last week.

Cuomo has been investigating whether investors were misled about Merrill's losses. The attorney general is also looking into whether Merrill handed out $3.6 billion in bonuses just before it merged with...
