NHL Expert Questions Omalu's Football Concussion Findings
By Zachary Zagger (January 24, 2017, 4:37 PM EST) -- A neuropathologist is disputing Dr. Bennet Omalu's much-publicized finding that deceased Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Fame football player Mike Webster suffered from the degenerative brain condition CTE, saying as part of the NHL's bid for CTE research materials that the evidence published was inconclusive.
Dr. Rudolph J. Castellani, the director of the Center for Neuropathology at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and a part-time professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, told a Minnesota federal court Thursday that he disagreed with Omalu's findings, which were dramatized in the movie "Concussion" and are at the center...
