Deals Rumor Mill: Verizon, Lionsgate, Temasek

By Matthew Perlman (January 26, 2017, 6:31 PM EST) -- Verizon Communications Inc. is in the preliminary stages of exploring a possible combination with Charter Communications Inc., The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. Such a move would combine Charter's 17 million cable customers and 21 million broadband connections with Verizon's more than 114 million wireless customers, the report said. According to the report, the deal could also spark regulatory concerns, since Verizon's Fios network has 5.7 million high-speed internet and 4.7 million television subscribers. A later report from Reuters on Thursday said that an offer has yet to be made....
