Oneida Asks For Exclusivity Extension

Law360, New York (August 18, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Trying to buy time in case its reorganization plan is not confirmed, flatware maker Oneida Ltd. filed a motion on Thursday asking to retain exclusive control over its bankruptcy case for 45 more days.

Oneida asked Judge Allan L. Gropper of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan to extend its exclusivity period through Oct. 15, according to court documents.

The company already filed its Chapter 11 reorganization plan with the court, but the judge’s confirmation is still pending.
