State Farm Accused Of Overcharging Homeowners

Law360 (February 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. has been hit with a putative class action by policyholders who claim the insurer overcharged them for homeowners insurance by failing to take into consideration changes to their fire protection classes.

Lead plaintiffs Donna L. Livolsi and Elizabeth S. Pettet lodged the suit against State Farm on behalf of a class of North Carolina residents and a nationwide class on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
