Credit Union Slams Eddie Bauer Over Data Breach

By Shayna Posses (March 8, 2017, 1:57 PM EST) -- Eddie Bauer LLC was hit with a proposed class action over a 2016 data breach in Washington federal court Tuesday, alleging that financial institutions have had to deal with the aftermath of the retailer's failure to properly protect customer information.

Veridian Credit Union alleges that credit unions, banks and other financial institutions have been left to to pick up the pieces after Eddie Bauer's failure to employ adequate security measures opened the door to a security breach that compromised shoppers' credit and debit card information from Jan. 2 to July 17 of 2016.
